It's my pet hate about gas grills - cooking in flames so everything is burnt on the outside and still raw in the middle. How far are the burners positioned below the cooking grate? If it's less that 100mm or 4" then frankly I wouldn't bother. The fundamental being the ability to both direct and indirect cooking.
